With this vision in mind, I struck out on my own and founded W. Jay Brown PLC in 2009. This decision has turned out to be the best one I’ve ever made. I take great satisfaction in remaining true to my mission of leveraging technology to provide incredible value and customer service to my clients.
My practice is quite unique in that there are very few (if any) attorneys in the Mid-Michigan area who devote as large a percentage of their practice to area of business, commercial, construction and real estate litigation as I do. I like what I do and think I do it very well. I also think my clients often enjoy a tremendous advantage over their opponents. Outside of work, much of my time revolves around my family and community. I’ve been married to a wonderful woman for 23 years and have two teenaged daughters. Much of our time is spent attending the many sporting events my girls are involved in. I also like to golf, bike and have recently begun running half-marathons.
My community activities revolve around my home community of Freeland. I have been on the school board for 11 years and serve as Vice President. I am likewise involved in the municipal government as the appointed President of the Downtown Development Authority. Finally, I’m a director of the Freeland Community Sports Association, a non-profit organization that runs the Freeland Sports Zone.
